The list below details what we have planned for 2010. The dates and locations are subject to change. If you are interested in participating, please contact the church office (301-899-5940) to confirm the information below.

2010

Homeless Outreach in the District - 4th Friday of every month
A team of volunteers will deliver food, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, and blankets to the homeless on the streets of Washington, DC. Donations are welcome. Contact the church office for more information. 

Assembly/Preparation starts at 6:00 pm. Teams leave the church at 7:00 pm to go into the District.

Martha’s Table (http://www.marthastable.org/)
Martha’s Table’s mission is to help at-risk children, youth, families and individuals in the District improve their lives by providing educational programs, food, clothing, and enrichment opportunities. The organization provides meals, learning, and literacy activities for over 300 children. It provides free and low cost clothing and supplies to those in need, and feeds more than 1200 people daily. Evangel has supported Martha's Table for several years by providing food for the hungry. (Dates TBD)

House of Ruth

Evangel provides clothing for women and children at House of Ruth. House of Ruth helps women, children and families who are striving to overcome domestic violence, homelessness, mental health disorders and substance abuse. At 13 locations in Washington, DC, House of Ruth works with more than 300 women and 300 children every day. The organization provides an array of trauma recovery programs, providing nurturing, structured, safe housing and caring, consistent and individualized services. (Dates TBD)

Kenya
A team will travel to Kenya to minister to several populations, including boy solidiers from Darfur, youth, orphans, and people in distress.

Haiti
In 2005, Team Haiti worked alongside YWAM to serve the needs of women and children in Haiti. The team joined YWAM's effort to revive the marketplace by cleaning the market before vendors arrived and returning in the evening to assist with closing activities. View Photos

In January 2010, Team Haiti Earthquake Relief worked with Bethanie Evangelical Mission to deliver much needed supplies to people displaced by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. View Photos

The Commonweatlh of Dominica
Evangel has traveled to Dominica yearly to feed the hungry, preach the Word, minister in music, and participate in building projects. In 2008, Evangel established The Lamb’s Feast Library in Portsmouth, Dominica. Click here to see photos in our Lamb’s Feast Radio Broadcast Gallery.

New Mexico
Each year, the US Missions Team partners with the Youth Ministry to visit the Navajo Brethen in Christ Mission in New Mexico. In 2009, Evangel conducted a full Vacation Bible School, made repairs to the food pantry and clothing closet, poured concrete for a sidewalk, and participated in a host of other activities. Evangel’s youth anxiously await the return trip.

Nicaragua | View Photos
Ministry in Nicaragua during 2004 and 2007 included laying the foundation for a bible school, ministering to women in prison, hosting activities for children, participating in door-to-door outreaches, and ministering within local churches.

California
In 2004, Evangelites traveled to California to minister in poverty stricken areas. The team helped with administrative tasks, cleaning, and ministry. Evangel is excited to return to California in 2010.

Evangelites have journeyed to Lowndes County, Alabama to participate in community outreaches. This includes construction projects, food distribution, and children’s ministry.
