Welcome to the Evangel Assembly Children’s Ministry where we are “Producing, Preparing, and Empowering Disciples For Kingdom Reign.”  It is our desire to meet the needs of the children of Evangel Assembly in their “Spirits,” spiritually feeding them the Word of God, teaching Christian foundations and principles, and showing them how to reach others for Jesus Christ.  In their “Souls,” we are reaching them as they soar to new heights in Jesus Christ while having fun as they learn about Him.  In their Bodies, we reach them by allowing them to run, jump, shout, and play, understanding that God is a fun God, and it is Okay to be themselves and learn about Him at the same time. 

The Children’s Programs are overseen by our Children’s Pastor, Diana McConaty, and are under the leadership of Senior Pastor St. Clair Mitchell and the Board of Directors.  The programs are supported by a large pool of resources including Children’s Ministries leaders, staff, and volunteers. 

Pastor Diana, also known as “Pastor D,” has more than 19 years of experience in children’s ministries.  She has served as a Sunday School assistant, teacher, and coordinator.  Pastor D has also provided oversight to numerous special children’s outreaches.  She has served as the Executive Director for the non-profit children’s organization, Hillbilly Haven, where she provided supervision for the daily operation.   Hillbilly Haven reached children of all ages in homeless shelters, churches, schools, and daycares.  Pastor Diana joined the Evangel staff as a full-time Children’s Pastor in November 2005. 

At Evangel, we reach out to children of all races, social classes, genders, and ethnicities.  All of our Children’s Programs are missions focused.  Our theme is to “Teach Them To Reach Them.”  We are removing the fear from our children about being different as we teach them about other countries and cultures.  One day our children will be equipped to meet the needs of our society, and they will not fear those who may look or speak differently or have different customs.  We believe that we are making a difference in the lives of our children in order for them to reach others for Jesus Christ.

In our KidZone program each Sunday morning, our children are learning to embrace different cultures as they travel to countries such as France, India, Australia, Spain, Jamaica, and  Philippines.

Kid-Z-Night Out, where kids can be kids, is held one Friday night per month and provides our children an opportunity to run, jump, play, watch movies, fellowship, and eat real kid food as they learn that God is a fun God.

Two of our children’s programs that have become widely known in our community are Vacation Bible School and Hallelujah Night.  These programs are free to the community and reach children of all ages, races, social classes, and ethnicities. 

Our summer programs have been expanded to a 2-week Performing Arts Camp and a 4-week Sports Camp for children ages 6–18, and Vacation Bible School.
